I don't know exactly how to start this but the title should explain my question pretty well.

I've been working on a small little fangame for quite a while now, but I've been doing so in the shadows, like I usually do with everything of mine. I'll not go into any details here for the sake of keeping it a surprise until I have something more concrete to show, but this is not what this post is about.

My question is; as of right now, in the end of 2018, is this fandom even alive at the slightest?

I haven't actively seen much actiity from the fandom except on very, very specific places; either this wiki or a few corners of Youtube every now and then and/or FurAffinity, but never anything significant. Is contributing with anything to the fandom even worth it as of now? Am I "too late"?

I've been on the fandom for quite a few years, but I never actively had the time or the wish to work on anything other than silly fanfics and fanart until recently, and although I'm mostly doing this for myself rather than for anyone else, I'm just faced with the question: Like... Is it worth it to put actual effort onto something like a fangame when the fandom is essentially dead? To me it almost feels like it's not gonna be too far from a personal enjoyment, which is honestly fine by own means; but makes all the effort kind of silly when put that way.

TL;DR: Are Morenatsu fangames even worth it in plain 2018 with the inactive fandom?
